Mona references the sea through colourful waves and suggested movement over the sculpture, highlighting the curves of the dolphin and the patterns on the sea surface. The name ‘Mona’ is the Manx name for the Isle of Man and translates as ‘mountainous or hilly land’. The colours are individually mixed to create unusual tones that are intended to sit next to one another, often clashing, to form a vibrant dolphin design. Mona is a very bright, bold and alert little lady and would protect the island from her position on the trail. She adores visitors!
