The Big Splash Education Programme
Schools and youth groups in the Isle of Man have been invited to be inspired, get imaginative and celebrate the natural environment of the island by taking part in our Big Splash education programme. Nurseries, primary, secondary and even further education establishments are getting involved and playing their part in the Big Splash art trail.
By joining the education programme, each school, nursery of education provider has pledged to raise a minimum of £1000 for Hospice Isle of Man over the next 12 months. In return they have received a blank ‘Dolphin Calf’ sculpture to keep, decorate and to proudly display. A learning programme resource pack linked to the curriculum has been created to help teachers stimulate young minds to discover the wonder of the Isle of Man’s marine environment.
We are also working in partnership with Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch to bring additional learning benefits to our education programme and celebrate the uniqueness of marine wildlife.
All the dolphin calves will come together at our final display event for the pupils and their families to be able to see them all under one roof and admire the great work by each of the schools.
